LeatherHandbags.org.uk is a website owned by Behold the Bag Ltd, a handbag business in West Yorkshire.
Behold the Bag Ltd started life as a handbag shop in Ilkley, and also has a retail outlet in Keighley West Yorkshire, and has a selection of handbags available in a retail outlet in Padiham in Lancashire.
Our aim when we established Behold the Bag was not to stock the same bags as every other shop, but instead to stock unique, exquisite handbags that were stylish, high quality, and reasonably priced.
This of course meant finding handbag companies that were not the major recognised names, but who also did not compromise on the design of their handbags, nor the quality of materials or the workmanship during manufacture.
The great thing is that because the companies do not have hugley recognised brand names, you are only paying for the bag, whereas well known brands bump up their prices, and probably 50% of the price is just for the name.
After visiting numerous trade shows we found a number of companies who met all of these criteria, and so we started to stock their products, and the response from our customers has been very encouraging.
Consequently we decided to expand our online presence and to start this website, LeatherHandbags.org.uk to promote & offer for sale the best ranges of leather handbags that we have found.
We are starting with the full ranges of just 4 manufacturers, but we have got our eyes on a couple of others, and we will expand the ranges and brands over time. The 4 handbag companies that we have decided to work with initially, and the reasons for choosing them, are below:
Smith & Canova: Smith & Canova are very well known within the handbag industry for producing extremely high quality, stylish, and very well priced handbags. They actually manufacture the Harrods ranges of handbags, which says a lot about what you can expect from their handbags.
Oriano: Oriano are the best selling range of handbags in Ireland, but are hardly known in the UK. I have heard a whisper that Debenhams may be about to start stocking them, but we got here first, so yah boo sucks to the big boys! Oriano handbags come in a wide range of styles, are well made, fashionable, and very well priced.
Louise Hempleman: The Hempleman Collection is a designer range of handbags that are absolutely gorgeous and incredibly stylish - inspiration comes from the timeless elegance of stars like Audrey Hepburn. They are also extremely good value for money.
Ciccia: Ciccia is starting to become very well known & very desirable to Radley fans. They have a very similar look & feel to Radley, hardly surprising since Ciccias Ruth Pinnock used to be a head designer for Radley. Watch out for Ciccia, they are sure to become a very well recognised brand.
All of these brands have the same things in common - they are stylish & fashionable, well designed & well made, are made from excellent quality materials, and offer fantastic value for money.
